Treasury under Pressure from Haulage and Freight Groups

There has been mounting pressure from haulage, freight groups, companies that manufacture vehicle tracking systems and many frustrated motorists for the UK Treasury to reduce the rising duty of fuel. FairfuelUK, an interest group founded by Peter Carroll is planning to take the battle to the door fronts of the UK government. It will present a huge check to the treasury symbolically to protest against the amount of tax the government charges per every liter of fuel bought.
Quentin Wilson will sign the check, worth £26.2 billion on behalf of automobile owners in the UK. Analysts say that this amount is an estimation of the duty paid by haulers and road users in the country. This will closely be followed by its presentation to the relevant government department. It will exactly be a week before the presentation of the UK budget. The freight industry has been highly affected by this. With fuel prices currently standing at £1.30 a liter, motorists are finding it very difficult to manage and most of them are trying to devise ways to cut on fuel expenses.
Technology to save fuel, fleet tracking systems and stolen vehicle tracking systems are highly recommended in situations like these. This will help in monitoring employees driving habits. However, the most tangible change can only be effected by a reduction of the pump prices.
